Course Outline

This 5 hour course Airport Construction Standards - Part Three, will cover fencing, drainage, turfing, and lighting installation. Several notes will be presented in the text including areas where the Engineer may make revisions to sections of the document.

This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.

Course Introduction

This course material is based on the advisory circular (AC) 150/5370-10E “Standards for specifying Construction of Airports,” as published on the website of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The Advisory Circular (AC) AC 150/5370-10E recommends the guidelines and specifications for construction materials and methods used in the construction of airports. This (AC) is mandatory for all projects funded with federal grant monies through the Airport Improvement Program (AIP) and with revenue from the Passenger Facility Charge (PFC).

Course Content

This course Airport Construction Standards - Part Three, will cover fencing, drainage, turfing, and lighting installation. The student should study Part VIII through Part XI of the following FAA document in order to prepare for the quiz. The remaining text of the document is covered in Airport Construction Standards Part one (1) and Part two (2).
