Course Introduction

All opportunities in life come through people. The size and quality of your network translates directly to your salary and the impact of your work. Like it or not, networking works. This course will walk you through simple steps to networking that anyone can do – once you learn the process.

Course Content

We all know that networking works. It is the best way to find new jobs. But, it is also the best way to find new consulting opportunities and the best way to get started in your own company.

In fact - the size and quality of your network determines the quality and quantity of opportunities.

But what about those of us who HATE networking?

For me networking events meant breaking out in cold sweats. After all, I am the typical introverted engineer. How was I going to network my way to success with networking? Was I doomed?

Instead, I found out how to network, and do it the RIGHT way. Not what I was taught in school. Not walking into networking events cold. Not through job fairs. No – there is a better – and easier way to do it.

I call it strategic networking.

You might call it – networking for introverts.

This chapter overviews the formula (or recipe) for success. As an engineer, who was not a natural networker, I knew I needed a process or formula or recipe to network. Chapter 6 – How to Conduct a PROFITABLE Meeting with Your Contact - 10 minutes 12 seconds

OK, when you get to a meeting, what do you say? We all know that too much talking about the wrong thing is a deal killer. So what do you talk about? And more importantly, what do you ask?  I will tell you here!

Networking Examples that Worked – 24 minutes 12 seconds

These examples show real world examples that have done the following:
