Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) Engineering

Lance D. LaRue, P.E., FPE, CIAQP

Course Outline

This online course provides a comprehensive introduction and overview of indoor air quality (IAQ) engineering.  The purpose of this course is to give the engineers & design professionals the information, resources, and tools needed to help deliver acceptable IAQ.  The purpose of this course is to also help guide the design professional in the application of this material.  This course on IAQ Engineering differs from other standard IAQ presentations, because it focuses on the work done by engineers and design professionals (the “how to”) in order to help them provide acceptable indoor air quality.  Standard IAQ presentations do not directly address the “how to” of providing acceptable indoor air quality.  Also, no secondary or tangential material is presented in depth within this course.  This course is designed to have an immediate and direct impact upon the design professional’s work.

This course includes a multiple choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.

Learning Objective

At the conclusion of this course, the student will be aware of:

Intended Audience

This online course is designed for mechanical engineers, HVAC engineers & designers, architects, building engineers & designers, facility managers, operations & maintenance personnel, and it is also presentable to a general audience.

Benefit to Attendees

The audience will benefit from this online course through learning about the issues related to indoor air quality engineering.  The audience will be able to utilize the practical information on IAQ presented in this online course in their daily professional lives.  For the audience members already familiar with indoor air quality, this course presents IAQ in terms of engineering design which can help them focus their design work on the issues that matter most in each unique situation.
