This one hour online course discusses energy savings consideration that should be considered at the various stages of design and discussions on commissioning and operation and maintenance of laboratory HVAC systems.

This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.

Course Introduction

The basic energy challenge confronting laboratory designers is the high cost of conditioning the large volume of ventilation air needed to meet safety requirements and building codes.  Because of stringent laboratory requirements, many best practices for energy-efficient laboratories attempt to reduce the amount of energy required to condition ventilation air. Fortunately, opportunities to do this arise at each phase of the design and construction process.
