Mr. Thomas McCauley holds a BS in Electrical Power Engineering for University College, Cork, Ireland and an MS in Electrical Power Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh, Pa. He has over 30 years of technical and managerial experience in the electric power industry. Mr. McCauley has provided litigation support t in cases involving electrical accidents and equipment failures.

His areas of expertise include power system planning, load flow studies, short circuit, voltage and motor starting studies, cable installation practices in utility and industrial environments (conduit and raceways), cable ampacity and cable pulling, arc flash analysis, protective device setting and coordination, electrical workplace safety practices, compliance with NEC, NESC and NFPA 70E.

He taught undergraduate and graduate courses in electrical power engineering at IIT and has authored or coauthored over a dozen technical papers on various electrical topics one of which won an award from the IEEE Transformer Committee.

He is a registered professional engineer in a number of states, a Life Senior Member of IEEE, a member of NSPE and NFPA and a member of the Forensic Expert Witness Association.
