Geotechnical Construction Demo (Broomfield, CO)

Joe Harris, Tom Szynakiewicz, PE, Greg T. Boonstra, Spencer Mills and Corey W. Shipwash

The purpose of the yard demo is to piggyback on our very successful “brown bag/lunch” talk we did down at the Tech Center. To get people excited about what we do, people like to look at things in the field….it gets their mind going with possible applications, and to showcase our many methods….as well as to introduce them to those who are not familiar with all of them. Hopefully, we could have Anderson Drilling park a rig in our yard too. Similarly to the golf tournament, have HBI staff from other offices to co-mingle with people.

During the demo of each technique, ongoing narration by HBI personnel will highlight what is going on.

Aside from what is outlined below, we will have other passive displays/demos with an HBI staff member to talk about if anyone is interested. Things that come to mind are a screw pile, micropile shoring, other pieces of equipment, strand anchor, stressing jacks etc.

Hayward Baker provides a wide range of geotechnical engineering and construction services to improve soils in-place and to both construct new and to rehabilitate foundations. The techniques that will be discussed include Compaction & Jet Grouting, Embankment Stabilization & Excavation Support, Vibro Compaction & Replacement, Micropiles and Pile Driving. Within our range of services, a Ground Modification solution is generally available for the toughest subsurface conditions.
