PDHonline Course Provider Biography
Mr. Rattenbury, PE, LEED AP (v2.1), is a 1989 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute of New York and is a licensed Professional Engineer in Massachusetts. Mr. Rattenbury began his engineering career in 1990 as the auxiliaries engineering officer aboard a United States Navy Spruance Class Destroyer based out of Norfolk, Virginia. Upon completion of his tour of duty, he entered into the consulting engineering field at the Boston-based MEP firm R. G. Vanderweil Engineers, LLP where he rose to the position of Senior Corporate Engineer in their Science & Technology design team. He is now a Senior Mechanical Engineer in the Systems Engineering Group (SEG) at the MIT Department of Facilities in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Mr. Rattenbury has authored numerous technical articles. In 2005, he received ASPE's "Award of Merit" for his work related to the drafting of the design standard for siphonic roof drainage, designated ANSI/ASPE Technical Standard 45. In addition to his professional experience in the engineering field, Mr. Rattenbury has delivered several short seminars to regional ASPE chapters around the country and was instructor for three hour course's in siphonic roof drainage during ASPE's 2003, 2005, and 2007 Technical Symposia.
