Learning Units (Hours)
Charles E. Dowd Jr., PE
This two hour online course describes the basics of acoustical design for a performance space where a sound system is used. The design approach for this type of performance space has some characteristics in common with the approach taken for classical performance spaces such as symphony halls but there are some key differences as well. This course will provide an overview of how the proper acoustical design will allow the sound system to be successful in providing an immersive experience for the audience.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
