This course is a basic introduction for Solar Energy & Fuel Cells Technology that is a brand new section of technology, which develops techniques of ever-evolving technologies such as, solar heating, photovoltaics, solar thermal energy, and can be mixed with fuel cells, which can convert chemical energy from a fuel into electricity, through a chemical reaction of positively charged hydrogen ions.
Renewable energy sources, such as, solar, wind, tidal, hydro, biomass, and geothermal have become significant sectors of the energy market. While the average capacity of renewable energy sources was only 7% in 2010, most new capacity installations have been with renewables. Hydrogen power fuel cell systems, are converted generally from water and natural gas. The hydrogen is used to run the four fuel cell and produce electricity, also turning potential waste into usable energy.
Most solar cells uses silicon based semiconductors to generate electricity from the sun. According to researchers, when using nanowires solar cells, are necessary ten thousand less of the precious gallium phosphide material, than in cells with a flat surface. Thus, solar panels and fuel cells technologies have been mixed, giving a broad concept and applied to any automated systems such as, water heating, process heat generation, spacecraft, buildings, handheld calculators, laptops, etc. Manufacturing fuel cells are also used individually for buildings, vehicles, submarine and thousands of other applications.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
User's Guide to Timed & Monitored Online Courses:
For Timed & Monitored (T&M) online courses, you need to log into your account to view the course content. You must complete the required study time (min. 50 minutes for each PDH) before you can submit your quiz answers and obtain your certificate of completion. However, you may print out the quiz questions anytime after purchase.
You do not need to complete the T&M course in one sitting. You may view the course content from office or home using different devices with Internet connection. Our website will keep track of your total time spent. If necessary, you may print the course content for ease of reading while you are online. You may also preview the content of E512T by viewing the content of E512 since they are identical.
For T&M courses, You need to actively view course content online - at least click your mouse once in a while. The on-screen tracking clock may stop due to inactivity at your end. If that happens, you may resume your clock by pressing F5 key on your keyboard or by refreshing your screen. Thank you for your cooperation.
