This 4-hour course describes the basic principles involved in making an arc welded joint and provides fundamental knowledge that is considered essential for entry into the welding and fabrication field. It discusses the structure and properties of both the weld metal and the heat affected zone. It explains the necessity for edge preparations when butt welding, and gives examples of the types used. It outlines how the welding procedure can be varied to meet the needs of the particular joint being made.
The course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.
NY PE & PLS: You must choose courses that are technical in nature or related to matters of laws and ethics contributing to the health and welfare of the public. NY Board does not accept courses related to office management, risk management, leadership, marketing, accounting, financial planning, real estate, and basic CAD.
