Logistics is much more than transporting a product from a supplier or warehouse to the end user. In reality, the process starts when a potential customer and/or client recognizes a specific need. Logistics managers are NOT merely order-takers but individuals that, depending upon job description, oversee the entire logistics process from component selection to final shipment. A logistics manager is closely involved with supply chain management, warehousing, transportation, an unwanted but necessary recall of product in consumer hands, and of course tracking through the entire process. Think of the individual overseeing product being shipped from Amazon, Walmart, e-Bay, Coca-Cola, United Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, etc. There are so many “moving parts” to efforts that must be expended to ensure the right product gets to the right address at the right time AND without damage. This course addresses all of the individual components and how they fit together into one over-riding process to bring about customer satisfaction.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
