Evaluation and Repair of Concrete Structures (Timed & Monitored)

John C. Huang, Ph.D., PE

Distress and deterioration of concrete may be caused by many different factors such as accidental loading, chemical reactions, corrosion of embedded metal, freezing and thawing, and inadequate construction or design. This course provides guidance on evaluating the condition of the concrete in a structure, relating the condition of the concrete to the underlying cause or causes of that condition, selecting an appropriate repair material and method for any deficiency found, using the selected materials and methods to repair or rehabilitate the structure, and preparing concrete investigation reports for repair and rehabilitation projects. The course materials are based entirely on the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Engineering Manual EM 1110-2-2002: Evaluation and Repair of Concrete Structures (1995 edition, 184 pages). This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of course materials.

User's Guide to Timed & Monitored Online Courses:

Our website will keep track of your total time spent. If necessary, you may print the course content for ease of reading while you are online. You may also preview the content of S136T by viewing the content of S136 since they are identical.

For T&M courses, You need to actively view course content online - at least click your mouse once in a while. The on-screen tracking clock may stop due to inactivity at your end. If that happens, you may resume your clock by pressing F5 key on your keyboard or by refreshing your screen. Thank you for your cooperation.
