All of the information provided in this course has been previously published from a series of separate articles in the STRUCTURE Magazine jointly distributed by the NCSEA, CASE and ASCE/SEI. The material will be presented in two parts. This course includes part one of the material and related previously published articles only.
This course is intended to present a compilation of the available knowledge on a number of antiquated structural systems including the S.M.I. reinforced concrete slab system, clay tile arched floors, one and two-way tile and unit masonry joists systems and prefabricated clay tile and concrete block framing systems. In addition, information is also provided about the early development of precast concrete.
The course content was first published in STRUCTURE® magazine as five separate articles between 2007 and 2008; www.STRUCTUREmag.org.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
