This two-hour online course is prepared for design engineers and fastener users to enable them to select appropriate fasteners for their applications. It includes information on material selection, platings, coatings, corrosion prevention, factors to consider for proper installation, locking methods, manufacturing techniques, thread types and potential failure mechanisms. Derivation of torque formulas, required clamping loads and fastener strength grades are also covered.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
