More States Require PDH's in 2004 and 2005
Starting 2004, professional engineers in Oklahoma and Missouri have to complete 30 hours of continuing education (CE) to renew their licenses. Structural engineers in Illinois also have to complete 30 hours of CE prior to November 30, 2004. Other professional engineers in Illinois will need to accumulate their PDH's before the next license renewal in November 2005.
Earlier in 2004, New York and Texas Boards of Professional Engineers announced that all PE's licensed in these two states will need to satisfy continuing education requirement starting 2005.
Among the five states mentioned above, only New York State Board requires that all the continuing education activities be pre-approved. All PDHonline courses are currently acceptable in OK, MO, IL, and TX. PDH Center is in the process of obtaining the approved status in the state of New York.
