John Poullain, P.E.
This three-hour PDH online course discusses the benefits and functions of rain gardens in urbanized areas. The essential data for location, sizing, soil and plant suitability, maintenance, and basics of construction are discussed. It also shows how runoff volumes, outflows and drainage pipes are sized. Actions and activities for rain gardens may require governmental and subdivision compliance. References for publications of governmental agencies, rain garden designers and authorities are shown in the text.
This course includes a multiple-choice quiz at the end, which is designed to enhance the understanding of the course materials.
